Main message: Proclaim joyfully that Christ has risen from the dead.
Bible references:
V1. "The Lord is ris’n" (Luke 24:34)
V2. "Where, O death is now thy sting" (1 Corinthians 15:55)
V3. "redeeming" (Ephesians 1:7)
V4. "like Him we rise" (Romans 6:5)
Keywords: Christ, ris’n, alleluia, death, love, lives, soar
Interpretation notes:
Each line has an AB structure: the A phrase is in the first two bars and the B phrase (‘Alleluia’) is in the second two bars.
The ‘Alleluia’ melody uses legato.
The ‘Alleluia’ melody stays the same in the first two lines, and in the third and fourth lines it stays in the upper range.
This hymn can be sung in a ‘calling and answering’ style, such as a leader singing the A part and the congregation joining for the B part, or men singing the A part and women joining for the B part.
Other ‘calling and answering’ formats can be tried.
