Main message: Have we counted the cost of sinning against God?

Bible references:

  • V1. "rejecting our Lord" (Luke 10:16)

"Though you gain the whole world for your own?" (Mark 8:36)

  • V2. "sin" (Romans 6:23)

  • V3. "door of His mercy" (Matthew 25:10-12)

Keywords: Lord, Spirit, counted, cost, gain, world, crossed, hope, sin, mercy, love, healed, yield

Interpretation notes:

  • The bass line contains only octaves and periodic chords.

  • The phrase 'have you counted' is repeated before the chorus and at the end of the chorus.

  • The melody uses sixth interval jumps.

  • The first 'counted' in the last system of both pages is accented.

  • The second 'counted' has an uplifted melodic note on '-ed' at the second beat.
