Hymn 375 - Come, Oh Come, with Thy Broken Heart

Main message: Come to Jesus with our broken heart and Jesus will comfort us.

Interpretation notes:

  • This hymn has a call-to-action followed by an encouragement structure in each line. 

  • The 1st line of the 2nd verse begins with 'Firmly cling to the blessed cross,' and the first melody sub-phrase ends on an up-note. 

  • 'There shall thy refuge be' follows, with the melody resolving to the tonic harmony. 

  • This structure repeats throughout the hymn.
