• The first phrase uses the same lyrics in all five verses. 

• The song presents a series of questions; every musical phrase does not reach a full stop until the last note before the refrain.

• In the refrain, half the congregation can sing 'calling' in the higher register, and the other half answers with 'oh, hear Him' and 'oh, hear Him calling calling' in the lower register.
