Hymn 169 - Hold the Fort

Main message: Christian life is a great spiritual warfare. Christ is our commander, we must hold fast to our faith. (Eph 6:11)

Interpretation notes:

  • This hymn is in 2/4 meter. 

  • Almost every measure has dotted half notes and 16th notes followed by 8th notes. 

  • Lines 1 and 2 have a leap of a 6th. 

  • The chorus starts with repetitive D notes. 

  • 'I-Am-Com-ing' has leaps of 3rds and four 8th notes. 

  • The last line has no leaps.
